Status: NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer
NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer is in port in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, after a successful mapping shakedown expedition. Up next is the 2026 ROV Shakedown (EX2603) in the deep waters around Hawai‘i from May 15-June 4. Stay tuned for more information.

A Pacific flatnose (Antimora microlepis) engaged us in a staring competition after it swam up to our cameras and stayed there for several minutes right before we concluded our dive. This fish was observed at 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) during Dive 01 of the Seascape Alaska 5 expedition.
